The United States Copyright Office charges a filing fee each time a new set of authors and/or claimants is added to a copyright registration. "Unique Author and Claim Combination" (UACC) is a term the Easy Song Team uses to help determine the number of filings needed and what fees are needed to be paid. It is the specific combination or group of authors contributing to a copyrighted work, the claimants who own each respective author's part of a copyrighted work, and the type of claim they have on that contribution.
For example, if on Song #1 Jane wrote it all and owns 100% of the copyright, and then on Song #2 Jane and John each wrote half and chose to share ownership 50:50 together, there would be two different Unique Author and Claim Combinations.
- Jane (Author and Claimant)
- Jane (Author and Claimant) and John (Author and Claimant)
