In the music industry, there are important distinctions to make between different terms and services.
Copyrighting
"Copyrighting" is a general term that refers to the action of registering your copyright with the United States Copyright Office. In short, this establishes a public record with the government that you are the copyright holder of your creative work. We offer our Copyright Registration services to help you file a Copyright Registration Claim with the Copyright Office and protect your music to its full extent under the law.
Publishing
"Publishing" can have different meanings in different contexts. The Copyright Office has a very technical definition of what it means to be published, which essentially equates to "being distributed to the public". However at Easy Song we aren't a distributor, instead "publishing" in a music context means registering original compositions (songs) with various organizations and collecting the income they earn. Music publishers will generally collect royalties and report to their clients, but may also register copyrights and negotiate licensing deals. In a nutshell, they help composers get paid when others use their music.
