Stores pay us for your streams and downloads. We show what you've earned on your Sales page and pay you once a month when you are owed $10 or more, by PayPal or bank transfer. We don't take a percentage of your royalties.
When will I see my earnings?
Stores report and pay about two months after the streams and sales happen, so your first earnings usually reach a payout about three months after your release goes live. Your Sales page shows estimated earnings until the stores' payment for that month reaches us.
How do I set up payment?
You set up payment from your Payouts page. We will email you a reminder before your first payout so you have time to do it. It takes two things:
- Your tax information. You fill in and e-sign a W-9 form on the page, using your Social Security number, an EIN (Employer Identification Number) or an ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number).
- Where to send your money: PayPal or a U.S. bank account.
When do payouts happen?
Once a month, if you are owed more than $10, you will be paid out. Otherwise, it carries over to the next month, so nothing is lost.
If a PayPal payment isn't claimed within 30 days, it comes back to us, and we send it again in the next monthly payout once your details are fixed.
Can I change where my money goes?
Yes, on your Payouts page. To protect your account, you sign in again, we notify your old email address, and the change takes effect after seven days.
Can anything reduce my royalties?
Sometimes. If a store takes back earnings it already reported, for example for streams it finds were fake, or charges a penalty, we subtract it from your future royalties. For cover songs sold as downloads, the songwriters' royalty comes out of your download earnings. We can also hold payments while we look into suspected fake streaming.
