What is Copyright Infringement?

Under US Copyright Law, every copyright holder is granted six immediate protections when they create a new work. Generally speaking, unless it's permitted by the copyright holder, infringement occurs when a copyrighted work is reproduced, distributed, performed, publicly displayed, or made into a derivative work.
