Your cover art needs to be a square JPG or PNG image from 1400 × 1400 to 4000 × 4000 pixels. 3000 × 3000 pixels is best. Stores also have rules about what can appear on it, and our team checks every release against them before delivery.
What can be on my cover art?
- Text can only be the release title, the artist names and the label name, and it needs to match your release details. Differences in capital letters, line breaks and punctuation don't count.
- No web addresses, contact details, release dates, track lists, barcodes, QR codes or advertising.
- No logos or brand marks, unless it is a name you are allowed to print.
- Nothing offensive or pornographic.
- Nothing misleading. Your art can't imitate another release, misrepresent the release or its artists, or make a featured artist look like the main artist.
- No stock-photo watermarks or other signs the image belongs to someone else.
- A clear image, without visible pixelation, heavy compression or blur, and with lettering that is easy to read.
- If your art has a Parental Advisory label or explicit imagery, your tracks' explicit-content answers need to agree with it.
- Each release needs its own art. Art from another release can't be reused.
You also need the rights to the image. If you didn't create it, make sure you have permission to use it. Our checks can't confirm who owns an image, so that part is up to you.
How does the automatic check work?
When you upload your art, we check it right away and flag common problems stores reject. If something we flagged isn't a real issue, leave it as it is and submit, because our team reviews every release.
Why was my artwork sent back?
If your art breaks one of the rules above, we send the release back with an email from support@easysong.com explaining what to change. Upload new art, check it again, then choose Send for review again.
Do I have to tell you if I used AI?
Yes. Every release asks How much AI was used to create this cover art? You answer None, Some or All.
Can I change my cover art later?
Before your release is approved, yes. After it is approved, new cover art means a new release. See What Can I Change After I Submit My Release?
