Yes. A UPC (Universal Product Code) is the barcode number that identifies your release in stores, and an ISRC (International Standard Recording Code) identifies each individual recording. We assign both unless you already have your own.
How do I get them?
- Leave the UPC and EAN fields blank, and we assign a code when we first deliver your release. (An EAN, or European Article Number, is the international version of a UPC.)
- Leave a track's ISRC blank, and we create one for it at checkout.
Once they are assigned, your release page shows the UPC or EAN and each track's ISRC.
Can I use my own?
Yes. Enter your UPC or EAN on the release, and we check that it is a valid code. Enter your ISRC on each track.
I'm moving my music from another distributor. What should I keep?
Keep the same UPC, ISRCs and original release date. See How Do I Move My Music from Another Distributor?
Can I change them later?
Not on a release we have already delivered. Changing a UPC, EAN or ISRC means a new release. New audio also gets a new ISRC, and a new release gets a new UPC unless you enter your own. See What Can I Change After I Submit My Release?
