Easy Song Distribution sends your music to Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok, YouTube Music, Amazon and many more. You set up your release, pay once per track, and our team reviews it before it goes out. Here is the whole process, start to finish.
What do I need before I start?
- Your Easy Song account.
- Your contact info. Easy Song Distribution is open to artists based in the U.S., and your music goes to stores worldwide. See Who Can Use Easy Song Distribution?
- Your audio, one file per track. We accept WAV, FLAC, AIFF, MP3, OGG and M4A files at 44.1 kHz or higher. WAV or FLAC gives listeners the best sound.
- Square cover art at least 1400 × 1400 pixels. 3000 × 3000 pixels is best. See What Are the Cover Art Requirements?
- The names of everyone who performed on, wrote and produced each track. See How Do Credits Work for Distribution?
Step 1: Start your release
Go to Easy Song Distribution and drop your tracks and cover art onto the page. You can also choose Start a new release, fill in the basics and choose Create release. The first time, we ask for your contact info.
Step 2: Add your release details
Your release page has five sections: Design, Tracks, Credits, Services and Review. Start with the basics:
- The release title, primary artist and primary genre. For a single, the release title has to match the track title.
- Whether the release has come out before. If you are moving it from another distributor, see How Do I Move My Music from Another Distributor?
- When it should come out: As soon as possible or On a specific date. Stores need about ten days after we approve your release. See How Long Does It Take for My Music to Reach Stores?
- A record label, if you have one. If you leave it blank, we send your artist name as the label.
Step 3: Add your tracks
For each track, add the title, the artist and the audio file, then answer the questions stores ask about every song:
- Does it have explicit lyrics? Is it a radio edit? Does it have vocals, instrumentals or both? If it has vocals, what language are they in?
- Does it have featured artists? Stores show up to four.
- Who wrote the song? If it is a cover of someone else's song, choose Cover and we license it for you. See Can I Release a Cover Song?
- Does it use any part of someone else's recording? If you copied audio from another recording (sampling), you need permission first, and we can help you get it.
- How much AI was used to create it: None, Some or All. If any, tell us which parts (lyrics, music, vocals or instrumentals).
Each track must be at least 30 seconds long, or 60 seconds for a single with one track. Files can be up to 1 GB.
Step 4: Add credits
Every track needs a Performance, a Writing and a Production credit. If you did it all yourself, choose credit yourself for everything. See How Do Credits Work for Distribution?
Step 5: Add your cover art
Upload a square image and tell us how much AI was used to create it. We check it right away and flag common problems stores reject. See What Are the Cover Art Requirements?
Step 6: Choose your stores and check out
In the Services section, every store is already selected. Untick any you want to skip. Leave Send this release to new stores automatically on if you want your release to reach stores we add later. See Which Stores Will My Music Go To?
When every required field is filled in, choose Add to cart. You check out on easysong.com, by card or PayPal. For pricing, see How Much Does Easy Song Distribution Cost?
By placing your order, you agree to our Terms of Use.
Step 7: We review it and deliver it
After checkout, your release shows Under Review while our team checks it. If anything needs to change, we email you from support@easysong.com and send the release back to you. Make the changes, then choose Send for review again.
Once we approve it, we deliver it to your stores, and most stores publish it within about ten days. You can follow each step on your release's delivery page. See What Do the Release Statuses Mean?
What happens after it's live?
- Stores report earnings about two months after the streams and sales happen, and you see them on your Sales page. See How Do I Get Paid?
- If you need to fix something, some details can be changed in place and others need a new release. See What Can I Change After I Submit My Release?
